How we verify clinics
Every clinic sits at one of three trust tiers. The gold "Rated Verified" tier requires the documents listed below. We don't take money for verification.
Gold tier. Our team has manually vetted the clinic against the relevant regulator, confirmed identifying documents, and reviewed insurance. The criteria are listed below.
Earned organically. Three or more approved reviews from distinct patient accounts. No staff review yet, but real patients have vouched for the clinic.
Added via the public Suggest a clinic flow by a patient who used the clinic and left a review. Listed publicly but un-badged so visitors know.
What we check for "Rated Verified"
1. Regulatory registration
We require evidence that the clinic and its lead practitioners are registered with the relevant regulator for their jurisdiction:
- UK dental clinics: GDC (General Dental Council)
- UK medical clinics: GMC (General Medical Council) and CQC (Care Quality Commission)
- UK aesthetic injectors: NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council) for nurse injectors, GMC/GDC for doctors and dentists
- Turkey: Türkiye SaÄlık BakanlıÄı (Ministry of Health) registration
- EU: Local national regulatory body equivalent
2. Insurance & indemnity
A current professional indemnity policy covering the procedures the clinic offers.
3. Practitioner credentials
For each named practitioner: registration number, primary qualification, and proof of identity.
4. Review integrity
Patient reviews require a verified email address. Reviews accompanied by booking confirmation, receipt, or appointment letter receive an additional "Verified visit" badge. We moderate all reviews before publication, typically within 24 hours.
5. Ongoing monitoring
Verified status is reviewed annually. We re-check regulatory status and respond to substantive complaints. Clinics that fail to maintain compliance lose verification.
Featured clinics - editorial criteria
A small number of clinics carry an "Editor's pick" tag on the homepage. These are chosen by our editorial team - never paid placement.
To be eligible, a clinic must meet all of:
- Verified status (regulatory documents on file and confirmed by our team)
- Trust Score of 70 or above
- At least 10 approved native reviews with an average rating of 4.3+
- At least 3 named, qualified practitioners on the listing
- No unresolved patient complaints in the last 12 months
- Active subscription is not a requirement - Free-tier clinics can be Editor's picks
Editor's picks are reviewed quarterly. Promoted listings (clearly labelled with the Promoted badge) are paid placements and do not affect editorial selection.
